What a great past couple of days.  Wildflower was another big win for me and I'm excited about how my training is starting to show through in my races.  It was a tough race from start to finish and I certainly had to work for it but getting to cross the finish line with my son is a memory I'll never forget.  It was an unprecedented double by any male or female in the same year; St. Anthony's then Wildflower.  Two very different but hard races.

A little bit about my day: Swim was okay, I set a good tempo but fell coming out of the water and got passed right at the end after leading most of the swim.  While in T1 I fell running with my bike and landed flat on my face.  I managed to scrape up my hands and cut my ankle pretty good.  More embarrassed than injured it didn't stop me from getting onto the bike and setting a good early pace.  I was comfortable for most of the ride and although it was tough I rode a smart race.  I knew it was going to come down to the run and I moved into first after mile 1 and never looked back.  That was definitely the hardest run I've ever done for a half Ironman.  My legs were not happy with me the next two days.

By far the best part of the race was having my family there to support me as well as compete.  Note to Lisa, next time I have a chance to walk in a victory, give me Boston closer to the finish line.
